Hello dear reader,
In this renaissance of divination culture that we are experiencing, I have been thrilled to find the Divine through the house of the Goddess rather than the strict formality of institutional religion. My Saturn-ruled ninth house has been far more favorably inclined towards star-mapping and publishing. Given that my part of fortune falls in the third house, the aforementioned Goddess temple, it would make sense I rejoice in places where the witch is welcomed. The kitchen table, the crossroads, the personal altar, the letter, the pillow.
Firmicus Maternus maintained a view of the third house as an alternate state of consciousness with intimate access to one’s unique inner intuitive faculty that becomes manifest with divine inspiration. In this house we divine by our own efforts, articulating a hermeneutic that is all our own. Rather than seeking spiritual knowledge from an external authority, third-house divination empowers our sacred agency.
As a distinct place of divination it signifies local rituals, rites, and revelations by indirect divinatory modes. Those who read how the smoke rises, or the patterns the birds fly, or how the cards turn make some lunar kinfolk.
So, in the spirit of cohering a psychic soror of sorts I am writing to invite you to join my new virtual community space The Cartier Club.
As a teacher I’m always so sad to see my students go. I think the desire to be in a learning space with them again is partly what motivates me to consistently dream up new classes. And then I realized I could lower the stakes, and maintain an ongoing community engagement offering. Thus, The Cartier Club will meet monthly. Here we can have some transit talk, explore unique tarot spreads, &/or read some critical, magical philosophy together.
In between meetings I hope that members continue connecting over their divinatory methods and messages via a private discord daily and perhaps continue to form friendships in their own time.
All alumni who have studied in any of my courses will receive an exclusive invitation to join, while new members can join for only $10 a month. This will include a subscription to my substack membership, and that includes my class series on the planetary decans, exclusive writings, and discounts on Red Tarot and consultations <3.
It would be such a dream to regularly see all of my students together in one place plus all of you readers, so I could put a face to a name. There’s so much I always want to talk with students about, but ultimately sidetrack much to respect our time and attend the course objectives. So here I hope we can experiment together as we cultivate a community across worlds, sharing perhaps a cup of coffee, kombucha, or tea and cut some cards. And of course the cards want to be between hands. Divination is dialogic. It always helps to have a witchy friend on the line to make sense of the message in the oracular moment.
And this witchy priestess needs all the life-lines she can get, and she knows your support makes it possible for me to live. Likewise, if you have been wanting to join me in class, but have been unable to for whatever reason may this be a more accessible means of engagement.
