Tarot Through Time, Wild Cards Last Call & June Consultations
Hello darling reader,
Can you believe that in just a couple of weeks Saturn will finally move into Aries?!
I have felt time flying by and I think it will just melt completely away once Saturn ingresses into the cardinal fire of Aries. And with so much going on I wanted to share with you one last call for Wild Cards, that starts this Thursday, May 8!
This 7 week course is about rejecting domesticity, reconfiguring our animal considerations, relations and auguries via the visual language of tarot. This course is dear to my heart because we do such expansive, deep work. We review dogs and Abu Ghraib, The Devil and Monstrous Intimacies and post-slavery subjectivities, Strength and Tina Turner, the 8 of Swords and Sirens and all sorts of chimeric assemblages that will take your divination much further into decolonial ethics.
The tarot will be our counterpoint to create a circuit of coherence amongst the various cultural layers, significations, and vantages that coexist within the cards animal references. No prior experience with tarot required but always welcome. Payment plans are available. Full itinerary and information below.
Tarot Through Time
Next Wednesday, May 7— I am excited to join my student, Cecily of Type Writer Tarot to enter the Tarot archives, reach out to the Tarot ancestors, and explore the origins of our fave divinatory technology!
I’ll be guiding participants in tracing the lineage of certain cards, the evolution of Tarot in general, and exploring how tarot changes and reflects the culture of its practitioners.
Tickets are $33. Free seats for members of my Cartier Club (only $10 / mo and our next meeting is Wednesday May 14th) or Cecily’s Creative Magic Collective. More details on all that on the events page! 💖
Los Angeles Festival of Tarot
Happening in late May, the Los Angeles Tarot Festival, has officially been revealed—and I’m so honored to be a keynote speaker at this inaugural event!
Join us in Los Feliz at the historic Philosophical Research Society for this very 4 of Wands, collaborative gathering presented by James Ferrara in partnership with PRS and 22 Teachings.
From Friday, May 30 through Sunday, June 1, immerse yourself in a weekend of lectures, workshops, readings, and lively conversations exploring the art, history, and mystery of the Tarot.
I will be on a panel presenting on Tarot Quaternaries: An exploration of the magical fours of Tarot. As 1 of the 4 Presentations with a Q+A following, I’ll be joined by Mary K. Greer, Naha Armády, and Laetitia Barbier! It is truly an honor to be part of this luminous, numinous gathering among some of the most legendary tarot scholars, practitioners and teachers of the craft.
After the panel I’ll be offering 1-1 tarot readings for the after party in the PRS Courtyard. And on Sunday I’ll be presenting a FREE in-person workshop at TarotArts, in South Pasadena titled:
The Star as Griot: Surviving by Way of Enigmatic Water-Bearers.
A full program of events will be available below—don’t miss this unique celebration of the cards, their wisdom, and their community.
June Consultations
Lastly darling reader,
I am writing to announce that my consultations are open for June! I booked up May last month and amidst such rich readings with my clients, revelatory classes with my students and exciting collaborations, I have been sitting with a deep gratitude and fulfillment from this work. If you’d like to work with me one-on-one, here is your chance. We can sit with the cards you’ve been dealt, your birth-chart or year-ahead.
I really hope to see you in class, in-person or in the reading room darling reader. So much is always changing but my commitment to this work only deepens with time. Study with me or sit with me and I promise you’ll be glad you did.
Till soon,
Christopher
Thanks so much for sharing! When I was in LA in March, the place where I was staying was just down the street from the Philosophical Society... I wish I was there so I could catch your talk!
